中文摘要 臺美昆蟲刺探電位圖譜(EPG)技術應用研究之國際農業科技合作 昆蟲刺探電位圖譜 (EPG) 技術已廣泛應用在包括葉蟬、蚜蟲、木蝨、粉蝨與薊馬等 刺吸式口器害蟲的研究,特別是對半翅目昆蟲的寄主專一性、植物抗性與病原傳播 的應用研究。今日EPG監測儀仍然是研究半翅目昆蟲刺探行為以及與植物間相互關係 研究的重要儀器。很遺憾的是,此類儀器在台灣從未應用在刺吸式口器昆蟲及其寄 主植物相互關係的研究。本計畫主要目的是到美國農部在加州帕黎爾分部之 Dr. Elaine A. Backus 實驗室,學習組織切片操作與判讀方法,並邀請 Dr. E. A. Backus 來台指導本計畫主持人之波譜分析方法,為我國 EPG 研究團隊奠定基礎。 草莓主要病害檢測及防治技術應用 了解日本草莓重要產區,於育苗期間針對主要病害炭疽病及萎凋病之監測、檢測及防治技術,以做為實際輔導農民時之參考。透過實地及技術交流,應用日本及增進我國相關重要檢測及防治技術,俾利草莓農民。
英文摘要 The collaboration of the international agricultural science and technology on the application researches of electrical penetration graph (EPG) technology between Taiwan and USA The electrical penetration graph (EPG) technology is widely used in the study of the behavior of the piercing sucking insects, such as leafhoppers, aphids, psylids, whiteflies, and thrips. For hemipteran insects, it has been adopted to study host specificity, plant resistance and pathogen transmission. Today, the EPG monitor remains to be the major workhorse in the contemporary studies of the hemipteran probing behavior and the hemipteran-plant interactions. Unfortunately, it has never been applied in the studies of the interactions between piercing sucking insects and their host plants in Taiwan, especially for the IPM research projects on vectors of plant pathogens. The intention of this project is to study the operation and analysis for histology, under the supervision of the AC-DC EPG inventor, Dr. Elaine A. Backus in the USDA-ARS Campus in Parlier, California, USA. Furthermore, the project manager will also invite Dr. E. A. Backus to visit Taiwan for the collaboration of international agricultural science and technology on the application researches of electrical penetration graph (EPG) technology between Taiwan and USA. Application of detection and control of strawberry major disease Our goal is to learn magor diseases detection and control methods during strawberry seedling in Japan. Through field and technical exchanges, application and promotion of Japan and our technology, to serve strawberry farmers.
